The in-Vivo and the Benchmark dataset contain both data from adults and children undergoing general anesthesia. The data contain spontaneous and controlled ventilation cases and all annotated for breaths and respiratory events. Available signals are capnogram (CO2), pressure and flow.

The data is available in the .mat and the .csv format. As all of our datasets, they can be used with our Evaluation Software Tools. 

We would like to thank all the anesthesiologists that volunteered for numerous hours in annotating the signals!

All recordings are from spontaneous ventilating children under anesthesia. The dataset does not contain expert rating on respiratory events.

The CapnoBase Evaluation Software Tool is a Matlab based GUI for handling of files downloaded from capnobase.org or for preparing files to upload.

Key features:

  • import of csv and mat files
  • filing of metadata
  • display of CO2 gas, flow and pressure waveforms
  • labeling of inspiratory and expiratory cycles
  • labeling of EtCO2 and InspCO2 values
  • rating trends, respiratory events and clinical signal quality

System requirements:

  • Windows XP, Vista or 7
  • Matlab runtime (provided with CapnoBase Evaluation Software Tool, requires administrator rights for installation)

Not all features are activated yet. CapnoBase is now online and functional. However, we have not yet activated all features. For example, the download of the data sets is not enabled. The search function for the in-vivo and the benchmark data set is also not activated. As soon as all tests will be successful and the extended version of CapnoBase proofs to be reliable we will activate thes features for the public.
